Ulster Bank cuts mortgage rate to 2.3% fixed for two years - all LTVs

Hi, I have question on this... Given that BOI has a Fixed Rate of 3% plus 3% cashback, would that be the best option if I was switching to a fixed from AIB Variable? Say I have a 400k mortgage for 29 years...(dont think LTV matters with either BOI or UB in this example) and I am looking for a...

History of AIB Standard Variable Mortgage Rate

Ya i'm on > 80%. So this means I actually get a discount of 0.35%, looks like its the same for all other LTV values. I thought it was gonna remain the same and the actual rate I get would be 0.1% higher than the SVR as per the history above, so 3.25% Thanks for the reply!

History of AIB Standard Variable Mortgage Rate

the AIB SVR is now down to 3.15 I would of assumed that this meant the rate that I would get applied to my mortgage is 3.25 as my current rate I get is 3.5. But I got a letter from AIB saying the rate I am getting is 3.15, the actual SVR and the amount my new monthly payment is reflects this...

Ya its doesn't sound right to me. With your overpayments, do you do overpay monthly and if so did you keep the same term? Is the new repayment amount recalculated monthly also? Just wondering how long it takes to recalculate. Say if I overpayed by 100 each month, would the recalculation happen...

History of AIB Standard Variable Mortgage Rate

Its quite hard to find this info. This is what I found from looking at press releases from AIB. Anyone feel free to correct or if anyone knows of a site that hold history of rates by lender..even better! AIB variable rate history [Announced] [Effective From] [SVR] [> 80%]...

    Fixed but for how long?

I posted this in the key post and it was deleted...not sure why, it relates directly to the key post...here: http://www.askaboutmoney.com/threads/mortgage-rates-best-buys.197714/ So in that post Brendan strongly says not to get a Fixed Rate mortgage. In light of recent articles suggesting that...

Some questions on Discounted Variable Rates

Just a few questions as I start this journey to buy a house for the first time, I intend to book an appointment with the bank but just to get the ball rolling... This is based on a house to the value of 450,000 with a 90,000 deposit. So a 360,000 loan with Ulster Bank. The following rates were...
