Who said it isn't fit to live in!!! Houses need periodic upgrading, the Croi Conathe scheme is designed to support that. There is an additional payment available if the house is derelict which seems to be what you are suggesting.

Croi Conaithe Scheme and OfferAHOME initiative

Just a heads up as people with a vacant property may not realise this. The Croi Conaithe scheme offers a grant of €30,000 if you have a property that meets certain criteria including being vacant for the 2 years prior to application. This is to update a property to provide accommodation for the...

Laya Alternatives to Laya Flex 500 Explore, now that they have dropped the Mater and Blackrock

Just a thought Brendan and I'm no expert but the fact that the Flex 500 rules now exclude Blackrock for existing conditions is it not the case that it will be 2 years before you can utilize the Control 600 Connect option to use Blackrock? Therefore Blackrock not covered at all for 2 years as you...

    Bike warranty

'If this were my bike, and no doubt cost a lot of bucks being of Carbon Fiber, I would engage a metallurgist to form an opinion on the likely cause of the damage. I dont know how much this would cost, but would investigate it.' Carbon fibre isn't a metal so this would not achieve anything. I...

    Bike warranty

What material is the Frame? Aluminium, Steel or Carbon? I'd suggest contacting a local dealer for the brand and asking them what their view of the crack is and how they suggest you proceed. I'd advise against riding it in the meantime in case it isn't structurally safe.

    Insuring a new driver

Cremeegg Can I give you one further piece of advice. When you arrange the insurance cover for your son/daughter don't leave any gaps transferring between packages. I mistakenly had a 2 day gap over a bank Holiday and it meant that my son wasn't recognised by other insurance companies as having a...

    Insuring a new driver

I'd second the Aviva Option and can give a worked example. I switched to Aviva and 17 year old started out on the 499 package for 13 lessons, Instructors were busy and it was sometimes hard to schedule lessons in a timely fashion. We utilized the 6 months accompanied driving to give him as much...

License for 30 years and quote for €5000???

If you have flexibility it is worthwhile ringing and requesting a cancellation for the driving test and you should be able to get it much sooner. The downside is that you have to accept the date you are given but that may suit you. Best of luck with it.
