Banking Options for sub-accounts or sinking funds

Possibly could be automated, the ones from my main ac to sub accounts are automated but the random bills are not automated as well they can be different, eg car insurance for example. Things like ESB bills etc can be done as direct debit so that is automated-ish. N26 do give IBAN for sub...

Banking Options for sub-accounts or sinking funds

I had this sort of set up with FA and then UB, it was just a bunch of savings accounts that I used for different things. Now that UB is gone I moved to N26 and pay the 45 quid I think a year for the next step up from basic so that I have sub accounts. I think it's worth that much to me as...

How do I get authority to represent a friend with their electricity provider?

Definitely repetition! I must have repeated myself umpteen times in the emails, couldn't be dealing with them in person as it was raising my blood pressure! Asked for final resolution letter several times to go to regulator and oddly enough it wasn't until I (as the customer) said there was...

    Health policy VHI-Death of policyholder

I'm not sure but after my father died I got a full refund from Laya, now I actually renewed his policy about 10 days before renewal date and unfortunately he died suddenly before the actual new policy had even started. They refunded the lot and I'm fairly sure I had to send in the death cert too.

How do I get authority to represent a friend with their electricity provider?

Well done on sorting it! I had similar issue last year with friends who had an astronomical bill for storage heaters. I eventually registered a new email in their name (with their permission obviously) and communicated using that, I found phone calls useless as had to repeat whole story each...

Ulster Bank's proposal to deal with offset mortgages

They gave me back that €38 too, don't know what that was about, why add it on just to give it back! The transfer of the money went through back in February, maybe the refunding of the €38 delayed the official closure or something or other.

Ulster Bank's proposal to deal with offset mortgages

Got one of the standard 3 monthly statement type letters today that shows I paid 2.93 in interest! A bit confusing as if I did where did they get it from, I was fully offset and haven't paid interest in years, in fact far in excess and then I cleared it all. I can't be bothered...

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

That's very disappointing! I really had hoped you were just dealing with somebody inexperienced who literally had not thought of a waiver to just get the drawdown across the line and sort the issue afterwards! It's quite simply not the case that you have to be turned down for cover to get a...

Ulster Bank's proposal to deal with offset mortgages

Who knows! I thought it odd that they were refunding the 38 euro closure fee after asking for it in the first place, there was hassle with that as they sent me out a letter to get IBAN details and for the joint mortgage holder to sign, there is no joint mortgage holder! Then when I gave them...

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

The waivers are also for anyone over 50 or someone buying a BTL and not just those that can't get cover, the bank are not taking on any worthwhile risk here other than the final 3 months of the mortgage payments which in fairness can't be too big! I would have no hesitation if I were the...

Ulster Bank's proposal to deal with offset mortgages

I actually just got a letter today confirming I had paid it off and that included in the amount was the 38 euro fee even though they have already refunded that a couple of weeks ago for some reason. The letter said they would be in touch with me about the deeds. Paid it off 9th February...

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

Looking for a waiver won't come against a borrower, you either get it or you don't and in this case there is actually cover on place just 3 months short. Mortgage terms are usually in years so would be shortening by a year, if that's affordable then that's fine too but would require reissue if...

Once your 50th birthday has passed is what it means.

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

The rigid conditions will be on the lender's side, it's their call whether or not they accept it but the reasons allowing them give one are below and it's ANY of them, not all of them so you qualify on the very first one. You don't have to qualify under any of the others, they are just all of...

    Smart Meters

No you don't have to have it installed if you don't want, however if at any stage in the future your existing one breaks then it's a smart one you will get! Don't know whether or not there will be a charge at some stage if you want to change voluntarily, I'll take my chances! No benefit that...

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

I don't think it does happen that regulary as most people do not activate the policy until it is needed for drawdown. I would never have advised someone to start the policy until drawdown was in sight, now of course if that goes on for a long time the life company will probably need a new...

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

It is a requirement but there are 4 reasons, one being over 50, that can warrant a waiver, however it is up to the individual bank's business policies whether or not they give the waiver, they don't have to.

Lender says I activated my mortgage protection too early - options?

If your income will still qualify you for what you want with a one year shorter term on mortgage that is the route I would try, however it will require a new loan offer issued as well to be signed so a bit of a delay too but shouldn't be long. It's kind of petty of the bank as realistically...

Mortgage protection assignment - will this delay drawdown?

Well unless that's some new rule or a particularly sticky lender but I've never come across it in my experience. Sure they don't even have the deeds as such and depend on the solicitors promise to send them on so I couldn't see what issue there would be once they have the assignment in their...

Mortgage protection assignment - will this delay drawdown?

I doubt you will, maybe, but hardly quickly! You're done now once you've signed the assignment, the behind the scenes paperwork could take ages after the funds are issued.
