    Windows and doors fitter recommendations

Hi, I have placed an order with www.crescentwindows.ie for a new french door. It is due to be fitted in mid September. Price wise they were very competitive. They were recommended to me by a person who services windows who stated that the most important thing is the installer. I have no...

Key Post Indo: Credit unions take on banks with some of the lowest mortgage rates in the Irish market

I am currently in the process of switching my mortgage to my CU. Rate is 3.75% based on my LTV but they have confirmed that any rate cut is passed on to existing customers.

    Credit Union Mortgages

Thanks all for your replies. I have spoken in more detail to my CU. Although it is technically a variable rate, the mortgages are funded by shareholder savings. Any change to the rate needs to be approved via a full business case to the Board. This has never happened to date. My own CU...

    Credit Union Mortgages

Has anyone any experience of taking out a mortgage with a credit union? Mine is offering rates of 3.75% which is competitive in the current market but I just want to see if there is any hidden pit falls I haven't considered? From my understanding is that the rate charged is not subject to ECB...

Key Post I have a tracker managed by Pepper – should I keep it or switch lender?

Hi Paul, No it is not warehoused. When I took the mortgage out they were offering interest only for the life of the mortgage. I am making capital repayments on this but could potentially stop at any time. I was also considering leaving the smaller mortgage at interest only & instead...

Key Post I have a tracker managed by Pepper – should I keep it or switch lender?

I currently have a split mortgage with Pepper (formally BOS). I was thinking of switching to a 5-7 year fixed rate. Details as follows 1) Existing tracker margin. (This is set in your mortgage contract.) 1.5% over ECB 2) If you have an additional mortgage on the same property, what is the...

    RAS Tenants Destroyed my Property

Thanks Freemar5. Yes this is posted on their website but the damage caused was way in excess of one months rent. The quotes I received were circa €45,000 to put the house back to a livable state. The Council don't want to know despite the fact that I made them aware of the state of the house...

    RAS Tenants Destroyed my Property

Sorry to drag up an old thread but was there any successful outcome with the council over the damage caused? I'm in a very similar situation with Dublin City Council so not sure how to proceed.

You probably should have been offered a tracker in 2007. I'm not sure if they were offered in 2002 when you took your mortgage out initially (but could be incorrect here). I would go back to them to see if you were offered a tracker then & if not, why not.

When you received the documentation from UB regarding your interest rate options were you given the option to take a tracker rate or only fixed rates?

Ulster bank letter RE tracker mortgages change from Residential to Investment

I got this letter from UB also. I was planning on ignoring it! My reasons are that I had to rent out the property due to the fact that UB withdrew my original tracker and I was unable to keep up the repayments. I was left with no option but to rent the house up to avoid going into arrears...

Ulster Ulster Bank refused tracker after fixed rate period -Ombudsman gave it back to me

Hi bfreckles, You need to send a formal letter of complaint to Ulster Bank. Keep all correspondence with them in writing and make sure you keep copies for record purposes. If the complaint is formal then they have to follow guidelines. The complaint process takes 40 working days before you...

Ulster Ulster Bank refused tracker after fixed rate period -Ombudsman gave it back to me

Hi Ladylouth. Ulster Bank have reinstated my tracker without having to deal with the FSO which is a major relief. I am still waiting on them to confirm the amount of refund due so I'm hoping it won't take too much longer. Thanks to all posters on Askaboutmoney for their posts as without them...

Ulster Ulster Bank refused tracker after fixed rate period -Ombudsman gave it back to me

Hi Bronte. Yes I had a tracker of +1.1 over ECB on the main part & there was also a small top up at 0.85 over ECB (based on having a U First account which I still hold)

Ulster Ulster Bank refused tracker after fixed rate period -Ombudsman gave it back to me

Thanks for sharing this information Pete. It is most helpful. I am currently going through the initial stages of engaging with Ulster Bank to have my tracker rate reinstated. My fixed rate agreement stated that I would revert to the "homeloan rate" as per General Condition 2 of my offer letter...
