    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

I can see this is turning into a bit of a lecture and a twitter like troll for something that hasnt been dealt with yet.

Take it easy there Brendan. I appreciate the several other measured replies. They have really helped. It is a discussion. It will be dealt with.

    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

Unecessary comments there Brendan It will be dealt with, I can see that offering a settlement is going down badly here for this unfortunate situation.

    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

Thank you for those replies. Engagement will happen. Contrary to what most seem to think here I believe the Bank left a 4 month gap dealing with their mistakes and 2 months since being offered repayment and did not reply. It has been on her mind. Do you see the point ? Do you see this as...

    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

Theres no point quoting me on that 20 30% figure, this is totally shooting the breeze on an anonymous forum. I can sense there is not a person out there who thinks she should tackle this based on the way it was handled, or offer a low settlement then.

    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

Thanks but can we have some balance here. What about the incompetence of the Bank ? And non replies to emails and an offer to return February salary and absolutely no take up on that. What would you all have done ?? It is likely she may offer a settlement amount in a reply email to be sent...

    Payroll/HR incompetence. Overpayment AFTER leaving.

Hi, I didnt ask how much she spent. I was hoping not to receive the righteous/emotional/moral type replies here. (what would you feel yourself as a young student ??) I am only interested in the law here. Only reply if you think you know the law.

Working as a contractor tax q

I work on contract, what type of services is this, what is insurance exactly. In my scenario this would be the commission that my agency takes, so they charge the client a higher daily rate than I receive. I invoice the agency, not the client directly therefore.

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

Yeah another concern as you say are timescales to process. How quick will it be to sell to an LA or AHB. Will there be an "SLA" to deliver in good time all the steps i.e valuation, agreement, engage solicitor, contracts, completion, proceeds. And, again, will they pay market value ? (if this...

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

Or allow everybody a higher lifetime Total CGT exemption limit. In some way give small investors something to cheer about (while meanwhile the vulture funds continue to cream it).

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

Yes. Points taken. If the tenant or local authority pay full market price then maybe this can be resolved without CGT relief. In my personal situation as a couple who simply bought a buy to let in 1996, it will be a significant contributor to our pension so of course we would like some CGT...

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

Reducing income tax does not really help those who want to sell unfortunately. But a combination of in situ purchase, income tax relief and cgt relief would both sort out the landlords while also providing security for tenants, and they get an option to buy it (if valued fairly).

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

First refusal in situ sale to tenant, or LA, or approved housing body: While I would welcome this, coupled with CGT exemption or reduction, if the valuation is not acceptable, what happens then (with the property you own) ?

Tax Treatment of Landlords has to be Revisited

Re: RTE report Michael Lehane on Wednesday seems like speculation, that is, full CGT exemption if selling to the tenant or a housing body. I really hope this happens. How about only allow the CGT exemption on 1 property ? We re waiting 27 years with our 1 bed cottage buy to let to get a...

Just give them as much as you like, forget tax, you and them have been taxed all your life and in my view this is double taxation.
