can you ask DeGiro for a clarification as to why they will not provide this? Which specific strict rules prevent them from providing the tax document?

Key Post The taxation of dividends from German companies

thank you for this. I think i get where the benefit is. You pay 25% tax to Germany, but only get credited by the Irish revenue for 15% of that. So theres 10% of additional tax payable because of it.

Have you tried appealing the decision to the Dutch regulator on the basis that as its non-binding that DeGiro are ignoring it?

Key Post The taxation of dividends from German companies

Not sure i fully follow. As I understand it revenue 'top up' your taxable amount to the full Irish rate. So for dividends its your marginal rate? Even if you can reclaim 10% you've still paid 15%. Revenue charge you the difference between your marginal rate and 15%.

Key Post The taxation of dividends from German companies

maybe i'm missing something on this, but aren't you just paying the difference back to Irish revenue? Whatever you may be able to reclaim from Germany (which you won't know until its paid to you) gets taken off the amount you are declaring to Irish revenue as paid?

EU Deposit Interest - Revenue Reporting

I need to ask are people submitting the enquiry to Revenue before or after submitting the Form? I know for (i think) Form 11 you can put in all your details and see the taxable amount before finalising/submitting to revenue.

Trade Republic - how do they make money?

they make money by charging a higher spread than other brokers. They also charge FX conversion fees on all non eur transactions. They take a little off a lot of transactions. the 1EUR per trade is an introductory fee. i'd expect that to increase as their market share increases.

Best way to invest €500 monthly

what you can do is open an account with a broker like Trading 212 that allows you to set up your own fund (they call it a pie). You add whatever stocks you want to the pie in the proportion you want that stock to be of the pie. Each month you can invest your 500 EUR and it will buy as much of...

DEGIRO no longer allowing to buy uk trusts

only if you like opaque quotes. They convert everything to EUR pricing. Very difficult to see proper bid/ask spreads (or implied costs). Personally i don't like them at all for trading. happy to take their deposit interest & referral incentives though.

Putting more than deposit protection in an irish bank

The point about Cyprus is that it was the first time a bail in occurred under the ECB's watch. Its now going to be used for any future crisis as a reference point. Irish banks are capitalised until they aren't. I never said Pensions are deposits. My point was that we did have some form of...

Putting more than deposit protection in an irish bank

While you are correct that no deposit holders in Ireland lost out, since the Irish financial crisis there was a similar problem in Cyprus. This was the first to have the concept of Bail-in. Basically anybody with deposits >250k lost a part of their deposit over that amount. Now it mainly hurt...

Transfer USD from Lightyear to Trading 212

I think reading your post your steps are: Lightyear to Wise (US bank ac) Wise to a local USD account Local USD ac to T212 Not 100% sure, but maybe somebody like Bunq/Revolut might have a local USD account? If not, then you may need to open an account with AIB in USD and transfer from Wise to...

Where to put lump sum that is for the purchase of a family home?

Sorry for your loss. In regards to the pension, at the very least query it with the provider. Tell them you were married in everything but name. You have 3 kids together. IF you were taxed together i think that would strengthen your argument also.
