Agreed. However, a few months ago when I signed up to Sse Airtricity, it was the cheapest on the market for what I wanted.… but yes, it will only benefit me until I switch next year. As for Sky, I’ve always paid for it and always intend to. The closest filling Station for petrol to me is also...

Rent a room scheme may be extended to all landlords.

Once again, probably wishful thinking but I do believe the politicians are looking to do something for landlords. However, the problem is it needs to be politically acceptable. A scheme such as this (assuming the tax shelter did not suddenly drop to zero when the rental income surpassed...

Rent a room scheme may be extended to all landlords.

Personally speaking, and I know, I am biased being a landlord, but I would have thought over the last 20 odd years that it has generally been first time buyers that have been incentivised to buy at the expense of the landlord, reflecting the massive drop in rental stock. So a small amount of...

FCIT F&C investment trust Go to your Degiro app and click on the magnifying glass symbol top right. Enter FCIT and you will see it there. It can be bought and sold as a normal share. It’s well worth looking back at old threads on here regarding the difference between ETFs and investment trusts.

Rent a room scheme may be extended to all landlords.

Probably wishful thinking, but wouldn’t all these unintended consequences be resolved by allowing all landlords to avail of this tax shelter, whether they exceed €14,000 in rental income or not.
