Move from LTV 3.8% to AIB 1-YR Fixed Rate 3.5%

Hi, I'm currently on an LTV of 3.8% with AIB. They currently have an offer of 3.5% for 1-year fixed. Allowing for the fact that their most recent reduction of 0.25% on variable rates took effect from June, does this mean another redcution of 0.25% would be imminent? Any thoughts welcome!!

    Recommendation for a roofer

Daniel Ballenger was very professional, punctual and reliable. His cost also seemed fair. I recommended him since to a colleague and she was also very happy with him.

    Shared gate with neighbour

We tried to engage him to come to an agreement, but he wouldn't discuss, as he sees this as an immediate interim arrangement and won't engage in discussions on it nor enter the planning process as he is more concerned about immediately protecting his property. He says that he will consider...

    Shared gate with neighbour

As feared, the neighbour has proceeded with erecting a high 3.5m wooden wall (with door) without consulting me nor receiving planning permission (he hasn't applied for planning either and doesn't look like he will). I haven't agreed to it, but at the same time did not go out of my way to...

    Shared gate with neighbour

I think he is preparing to proceed without planning permission. I can see his point, as planning is required for anything over 2m which isn't very high from a security point of view. He doesn't want to risk/wait for planning to come through, as they were burgled recently and quite jumpy. I...

    Shared gate with neighbour

Thanks for responses. I accept the point of 'overthinking' on the ownership/ liability issues. However, if the gate or structure is erected which is not in compliance with planning laws, is there any chance the authorities could take a claim against us, if the other neighbour paid 100% of...

    Shared gate with neighbour

That will be seriously considered, and I think it a good option, but I don't think there is enough space.

    Shared gate with neighbour

Our neighbour wants to put up a shared gate in the alley between our two semi-ds. The alley is about 1.5m wide. We each own half of the alley, with (I presume) the title divide running half-way down, with no visible border. The neighbours want to put this gate near the front of both houses...

BOP 42 Form from CSO - Why must it be completed?

Does anyone know why an insurance company, if requested by the Central Statistics Office (Balance of Payments Section) "are required to complete" the [broken link removed] (see p3 in report: Who Should Report?). I've done a bit of digging, but can't see where the regulation is specfically for...

Ok; thanks - seems to be somewhat contained. It wasn't clear from the first report whether he was runing around on the loose or whatever!

RTE Report re Man With Gun in Dundrum

RTE had a report for a few seconds this evening (around 4.45pm) regarding a man with a gun in the Dundrum area. It is now gone from the RTE website, but a Google search shows a shadow of the report: Gardaí respond to report of man with gun in Dublin - RTÉ News...

Will chemist give you more than 1 months supply at a time?

This doesn't explain why there is a difference in limit for medical card holders. If there are issues around cost, grey market, safety etc., why not then apply the same 1 month limit to private patients? I still can't follow the logic for the limit of one month for medical card holders. If...

Will chemist give you more than 1 months supply at a time?

Interesting that it's different for medical card holders. Non-holders can get 6 months dispensed at a time. Why is there a restriction on medical card holders?

Will chemist give you more than 1 months supply at a time?

GPs can write prescriptions for up to a max of 6 months. I have no idea if being on a medical card changes that.

Giving son full price. Payback when he gets mortgage

I don't think this is a good idea. If you buy the house and your son pays you back the mortgage, then he won't really own the house, so it's unlikely to meet his goals. Have you discussed this with him? The alternative is selling it to him in a year or two when/if he gets a mortgage...
