    grandmother's will, probate delay.

Probate Seat Office applications (applications by solicitors) are currently taking 20 weeks. I would be asking the solicitor for visibility of all queries raised by the Probate Office and what was replied to them. They very likely raised a query close to the 20 weeks so if I was you or your dad...

It's a speed bump at this stage. When approximately did the solicitor submit the application and when did the query come from the Probate Office?

    grandmother's will, probate delay.

Testamentary capacity is a legal test. When taking instructions from an elderly client, a solicitor must establish the presence or absence of testamentary capacity. If in doubt, a medical opinion should be sought [by the solicitor or client] before proceeding. It is the solicitor’s obligation to...

Probate: what do I actually need a Solicitor for?

Zuinig, based on your post, you seem very on top of what is required. Submit the application (see here), collect the assets (a few letters), consider Capital Acqusition Tax, and distribute the proceeds. Some ancillary services (maybe converyancing, maybe a bank account) may be required but in...

    grandmother's will, probate delay.

The Probate Office lists everything required in a probate application here. You will note that one items that may be required is an Affidavit of Testamentary Capacity from a doctor. "If doctor is unavailable evidence from another source may be acceptable. Alternatively, the High Court may order...

    grandmother's will, probate delay.

Health is wealth. Your dad's health is much more important than an inheritance of €40-50k. He should consider renunciation and leave it up to his siblings.

Public Service Pension AVC'S top up

Is this because she will have less than 9 years of service at retirement? If she had more than 9 years service, would she be eligible to top up her tax free lump sum? Say she had 20 years service, could she have matched the lump sum paid by her scheme with an equal amount from her AVC PRSA...

Ending of CAPITA Nominee scheme for Aryzta shares.

Does anybody have any idea what price these shares were sold at with the final / default exit option viz. forced sell? I know the commission charged was 1.5% but don't know what price the forced sale happened at. The forced sale was around mid August if the share owner did not reply to one of...

I understand the normal Revenue FIFO rule on selling shares and understand the 4 week modification viz. where shares are sold within four weeks of acquisition the shares sold are identified with the shares acquired within that period. Tesco Bank Cuts Credit Card Rewards

Yes; I'm sure. It's per purchase transaction. That's how it currently works with 1 point per €2 spent outside Tesco. After 5th October, it'll be per €8 spent.

Tesco Bank Cuts Credit Card Rewards

The terms state "1 point awarded per €8 spent (€8 minimum) outside Tesco in each purchase transaction". If you spend €7.99, you'll get no points (outside Tesco). If you spend €79.90 in ten €7.99 transactions, you'll get no points - the spend is not aggregated for points purposes.

Received the letter too :( - the date is now confirmed on the page here. I've just calculated that I earned €98 in vouchers over the last three quarters so I'll still get a free visit to the zoo for a family of five with a quarter of the points. For me, it was a bonus anyway as I moved away...
