Are we considered like first time buyers?

Hi all, I'm aware this question sounds like a contradiction but bear with me! We sold our house in May 2008 and have been renting ever since. We're looking to buy again most likely later this year. In terms of stamp duty and tax reliefs etc, how are we considered from revenues and the...

Witness Expenses? Not sure if this is the right place!

Hi All, I have been called as a witness in a case. I don't want to discuss this obviously. I have to take the day off work, which won't be paid. I will also have to travel and stay overnight as the case is in the early a.m. Is there a method of claiming for these expenses or do I just...

    Sonic Electric Toothbrushes by Phillips

We use 2 in the house and no problems to report. Maybe you were just unlucky. I had the same results at the dentist! My 6 monthly check-up is now a yearly check-up because of that toothbrush - They're that good!!

    Tesco!

My issue in a nutshell is this - Whether I'd paid for the item or not - It wasn't technically speaking marked incorrectly - It was on the wrong hook - Now every single one of them (the double pack inks) was on this same (wrong) hook. If they had said, sorry genuine mistake, and offered the...

    Tesco!

OK. I know where you're coming from but in the case above, I wouldn't have gotten it anyway. They were swearing blind that I got the ink from a different shelf.... I'm not arguing about the refund policy etc. I have a MAJOR issue with the fact that I was, effectively, accused of pulling a...

    VAT when Importing

I import from the UK and Italy and I generally provide the vendor with my VAT details and the goods arrive VAT exempt. That's been my experience so far... Non EU could be different. I'm very interested in the answer however as I'm about to start dealing with a U.S. company for some stock!
