Query re time on certificate of transfer of insurance to new car

Try to recall whoever told you it was a system fault , and ask them to reissue the insurance certificate from the time you paid the charge, If you paid by credit or debit card the card company may be able to confirm the exact time of payment. Otherwise I feel its a matter for your solicitor to...

Which online brokers allow investing in US ETFs

eToro will sell you a Contract for Difference , based on any US ETF at present. You pay the full price for the ETF but it is not yours , I would describe it as a bet on the future value of the ETF with eToro. You can sell when you please , and eToro will pay you the market price. Interest paid...

Cancelled Flight , and now fears of a sluggish (if any ) refund.

As a footnote , 3 family members who were supposed to be on the same flight have already got full ticket refunds. ( Obviously I am not as persuasive at filling out refund forms as my children. I will get them to do it if ever in a similar position again )

Cancelled Flight , and now fears of a sluggish (if any ) refund.

I think the excuse that itwas due to a strike only applies to compensation. All I want is a refund of the ticket price. Anyway its with the Commissioner for Air Transport now .I have seen firms advertising on Internet to take your case , even to court if necessary, but fees seem to be about 15%...

Cancelled Flight , and now fears of a sluggish (if any ) refund.

Thanks mustang01. Paid with Visa Debit. Worth trying them for a charge back if I don't get a more satisfactory response from Ael Lingus.

Cancelled Flight , and now fears of a sluggish (if any ) refund.

Aer Lingus cancelled a 6 am flight to Pisa for my wife and self on Friday May 20th. Reason was a union disruption at Pisa airport. About 12 hours notice given to me. Arrived at airport in good time , but told flight confirmed cancelled. Checked at Aer Lingus desk, no acceptable alternative...

Do I need to report purchase of Contracts for Difference on my Tax Return.

Due to the difficulty in purchasing U.S. ETFs in Europe, I have made 2 or three (small) contracts for difference , based on a " buy" of the U.S. ETFs. My contract is with eToro , and their web site confirms that I do not own the ETFs , and I seem to be just " betting" on their increasing in...

    NDLS contact details.

If a medical report is needed , the doctor must certify that the applicant has satisfactory vision and no medical condition which would make driving dangerous. The applicant needs to sign the form in the presence of the doctor, so leaving the form at the surgery for later completion would...

    NDLS contact details.

Your Doctor , or an optometrist , has to complete this form once the vision test has been completed. You could check when making an appointment that there are facilities available to print out this form at the office. It is not necessary for the applicant to have the form in advance of the eye...

How soon is Exit tax payable

If I sell some ETFs , liable for the 41% exit tax , how soon is this tax due. Can I declare the sale profits on my F11 form for the year of sale, and pay the amount due then . If this is the case I presume my Preliminary Tax payment for the year of sale should include my calculation of the exit...

    Revenue E-Brief on ETFs

Like many contributors to AAM , I have been worried by the possibility of US domiciled ETFs being brought into the Gross Rollup taxation method as used for UCITS ETfs . This seems now more likely on reading this forum. About 15% of my small portfolio is in US domiciled ETFs. To shelter myself...

Irish Revenue rules as to what is a joint Brokerage account

Setting up a brokerage account with a firm who do not offer a Joint account facility for my wife. This will cost me extra CGT on any profits, as all shares will be in my name. Dividend income will also attract extra USC as my wifes income is under € 12000, so no benefit for her being exempt...

Gift to one partner in a marriage , treatment in later house sale

I have a child in a marriage which is under considerable strain partly from financial difficulty paying the house mortgage. Shared mortgage payments . I am in a position where I could offer a lump sum as a gift to one partner to assist in the mortgage repayments. In the unfortunate...

Can I avoid CGT when my property has too large a garden.?

Hope to put family home up for sale shortly. Total garden area is 1.136 acres , so worried I may have to pay CGT on my gain. If so, would this be on my total gain, or a proportion ( my calculation is about 13.6% ) of the total gain. Could I avoid CGT by only selling one acre of garden with the...
