IMHO solar water is a waste of time and money, look into installing solar that not only can heat your water, but can also contribute directly as a preheater to your central heating as this gives a much better return on investment.

Ring and complain! Bet you get a reduction if you ask to have it removed.

It may well be suitable, depending on it's type and rating. but a new condensing boiler comes with a burner. You can always sell it on donedeal or something Changeover takes 1-1.5 days usually, but would need to know flueing arrangements etc to say with more certainty.

If the boiler has not been correctly setup with the right nozzle, pressure, air, head settings it can resonate a low base tone (would drive you mad) Sounds like it needs a proper setting up (flue gas, pump pressure etc checked)
