Bank of Ireland App warning about Android version

I received a warning notification in my BOI app telling me I needed to update my phone to a newer version of Android as Android 11 will no longer be supported on the app after 31st March. However, my phone is on Android 14 so I am wondering if it was a general broadcast that went out to everyone...

    Clearing an Ulster Bank Mortgage

It is easy enough to check the balance online, mortgage account, date of birth and surname are the details you need. There is no password or need to set up any account access. https://www.switch.ulsterbank.ie/MMMWeb/ubr/faces/login.jsp

House borrowing options for over 60's

I'd agree try a broker but the other thing to consider is that some credit unions now do mortgages, it might be worth looking into that if you are a member of one that does.

Ulster bank mortgage - I have heard nothing from AIB?

Dunno, but I am still waiting for a transfer notification too, or any communication for that matter!

Ulster Bank's proposal to deal with offset mortgages

I'm in the same boat, whatever the delay is they haven't provided any update in months and never indicated that there was any particular issue. I'd be shocked if there was so I figure I am just at the end of a looooong queue!

    Health Insurance Claiming Dental expenses

I'm reasonably sure (I think I did it once a couple of years ago) that you can claim on both where there is an outstanding balance. So, for example, if you have, say 70% coverage on your dental insurance for the procedure, you can still make a claim based on the outstanding amount. I don't...

    Settlement with cabot

I would think the questions you need answers to are: 1) Can you afford to pay what they are demanding? (No point agreeing to it if you can't afford it!) 2) Will it be full and final settlement? 3) Will it clear your CCR? (And if yes, when?). There's little point in agreeing to it unless it...

    Ryanair "need a hand?" email

@Brendan Burgess out of curiosity, do you have the app installed on your phone? I am wondering if perhaps the email you received is sent to people that don't have the Ryanair app (especially as it asks "Never used a smart phone before?").

What is average cost of management fees and are there often other fees requested for exceptional maintenance?

Our insurance costs have certainly gone up. They are not the only component that went up, for example, we increased our sinking fund provision and maintenance costs have gone up, etc, but as insurance was such a significant cost in the budget anyway it is a significant part of the increase in fees.

What is average cost of management fees and are there often other fees requested for exceptional maintenance?

Small complex of 31 units and a creche. The fees have been increasing in recent years (increasing costs and also recovering an agreed stay on any increases during Covid lockdowns). No gates, no lifts, bins are individual. Aside from the creche it is a mix of 2-bed apartments and 3-bed duplexes...

PRSI D, A, Contributions abroad and pension

If you have a smart phone you can download an app like Tiny Scanner that can "scan" a document using your phone's camera. (No affiliation to the app developer I have just found it useful esp where I needed to scan signed documents.)

Employer pension scheme - career plans elsewhere in 2-3 years

If there are no employer contributions then it comes down to charges, do some research, find out what you would be charged if you DIY and then see how their offering compares when they give you the details.

    Master trust pensions

I know in my specific case, I have two different pots in the same master trust, even then I cannot see exactly what is being charged (I had a good rummage around to see if there was anything clearly stated anywhere). The best that I could see was on the projection assumptions, they differ as to...

Looking for some advice on my UK savings account (currently living in Ireland)

Start with what you want to do with your life, it doesn't have to be specific plan but sort of a general set of aspirations, goals, etc. Look at them as long/medium/short term and think about how they will need to be funded. That will give you an idea of how accessible you want that money to be...
