How to invoice and account for VAT on service sold to UK post Brexit?

Yes, You are probably correct there, 0% rated, but not sure how I account for the service on the VAT 3? It's non-EU now, another one to figure out I guess.

How to invoice and account for VAT on service sold to UK post Brexit?

The upshot, for those interested, is that I see VAT exempt and the customer in the UK is responsible for accounting for UK VAT. No reporting requirements on my side to HMRC. At least that's what we are doing as I believe we fall under the reverse charge rule, info here for those in similar...

How to invoice and account for VAT on service sold to UK post Brexit?

I would presume so. I think some non EU countries require other countries to collect the Sales Tax on their behalf. Have no idea yet what HMRC will require. When I get answers I will post them here for reference.

How to invoice and account for VAT on service sold to UK post Brexit?

I'm finding it hard to get clarity on this issue. We sell an online advertising service to UK businesses on a UK focused website. We are an Irish based company. So supply rules mean the service is supplied in UK, B2B, so not liable for Irish VAT. On HMRC site I am seeing that we now have to...

Thanks to you both, yes I think I will just correct next year. No wider implications that I am aware of. The CT1 went in with the correct figures. Thanks very much.

Mistake in accounts on B1 submitted

just realised that there is a mistake in the B1 accounts submitted online a few weeks ago. I am past the submission deadline date. These mistakes were picked up when completing the CT1. It means a slightly bigger yearly trading loss, by about 8,000. What should/can I do? I do not want to do...

Charity shop buys treat as donations?

I was recently on my local charity shop and overheard the teller informing a lady who was purchasing items that she should keep her receipt, which has details of the charity and it's registered number, and the amount tendered, as she can claim tax back on the amount on her tax returns as it is...

Co managed pension, declare on P35?

Our Co pays into a Co pension for our two directors. They do not pay into it personally. It is managed by the trustee, which is the Co in this case. It was approved on set up b y revenue, etc. But I am wondering if I have to make reference to payments into it on the P35L I just submitted? My...

    Late form 11 return

Yes, spent some time on the phone and that is the answer I am being given. I had actually overpaid tax in 2014, after medical expenses taken into account, but am being fined for a late return purely because I am a director. I intend to appeal this as it is absolutely unfair. All tax, usc and prsi...

    Late form 11 return

Just realised today I had forgotten to make my online form 11 return. I think the date was the 12th of Nov for online returns. I am a proprietary Director, but pay my tax monthly as per any employee. There was no outstanding balance from 2014. But they are fining me for a late return a few...

How to handle trade mark infringement issue

Our online business revolves around our website. We are a UK site (though Irish based business). We own the trademark (UK registered) for our business and site. Our website name is followed by ".com" . For the last few years someone is operating a .co.uk version of our website address. There is...

    Accounts software package

There are some very interesting new online accounting packages available. Wave is a free one and Xero, which I use, is paid for. I only opted for Xero over Wave as it had the multiple currency option which I needed. Otherwise I would have been opting for Wave. Can't see the point in paying for...

BIK Co pays for health insurance and gym

Thanks Joe_90. Does that mean I am correct in my treatment of the gym membership? So is there any advantage to paying the VHI through the Co then?

BIK Co pays for health insurance and gym

Just wondering if I have the treatment of BIK in this situation correct. Noticed the gym has a corporate rate which is better than the regular rate. So, myself and the other half are proprietary directors of our Co. If I get the Co. to pay for the family gym membership (they basically throw the...

    Cross Border VAT/Corporation Tax query

We operate in the reverse to your friends situation, Irish Company, over 50% of our business in the UK. I looked into this a bit and my understanding is that in our case we are an Irish Company, based in Ireland so pay taxes, Vat, etc here. We charge Vat of 0% to the UK customers, noting on...
