    With regard to PTSB, bear in mind that if you need to withdraw the money before the 3 years is up, they charge you a 'withdrawal fee' State savings don't have such a fee.

    Received a cheque for €20. If not cashed within six months they donate it to a listed charity. Thats what I'm doing with mine.

    @deco87 Have you considered the State Savings 10-Year Solidarity Bond? 22% return if left on deposit for the full 10 years No DIRT due Easy withdrawal with 7 days notice So, for €70k that would = €15,400 in interest (they call it a 'bonus') after 10 years

    @Fortune I'm curious ...why is a guaranteed 22% interest "not great"? What better (guaranteed return) is available on the Irish market?

    So when do contributions made in Year 6 mature? i.e. contributions have to be left on deposit "for a further period of five years" Year 6 contributions - left on deposit for a further five years = 11 years before it all matures ...or am I misunderstanding it all?

    On a side note....am I thinking correctly when it comes to the 6-Year Instalment savings... It's based on 12-monthly instalments left on deposit for a further 5 years. Therefore, the whole process will take 11 years in total to finalise?

    Below the amount in your prize bonds section there is the option to 'manage/cash in' Click on this and you will see 'Cash In' and 'Reinvest' Click on 'Reinvest' and you can then select which state savings product you wish to purchase I also discovered that this has been an option since 2021!

    State Savings have just amazed me!!! In answer to my question above..YES.. you can do a seamless online transfer of funds!! I have just transferred money out of my prize bonds holdings directly into the 10-Year Solidarity Fund! All at the click of a few buttons in my state savings account...

    "I was contacted by AIB saying an overpayment I recently made will NOT go off the term as instructed, instead it will decrease the monthly repayments. I will need to wait until 2027 until fixed term ends" I suspected this is still the case We may keep saving until 2027 and make an overpayment...

    We also received this letter from AIB. I would like to shorten the term instead. Is that an option for us? We fixed at 3% in 2022 (until 2027)
