Employer grant for employee upskillling

At the moment i have a level 6 apprenticeship behind me and hope to do a level 7 degree course starting in September. I have approached my employer about possibly paying or sharing the cost as the course will be relevant to what i do it at work. He has asked to try and find out if there are any grants available for employers towards upskilling the companies employees but i can't seem to see anything. Anybody have any idea if there is such a thing? Thanks in advance.

Skill Net have some training courses but the real answer is no, there is no funding to help employers up-skill their employees in areas which are of real help to them. The government can't be seen to be giving money to "rich" employers.

Enterprise Ireland do have some aid available but only for companies which fall into their scope

It's only for training in the specific areas which they want to see companies develop into so it's bugger all use to the OP.
